The employees of each McConkey Auction have selected organizations within their communities to champion. In every case, employees and customers work together to raise funds and serve those in need. Doing so improves the greater community while building relationships and a strong spirit of camaraderie.

Community Involvement



DAA Northwest’s Community Care Project gives employees the opportunity to volunteer within our community. Employees have adopted Sunset Elementary School and supply at-risk children there with weekend meal packages, and one-on-one mentoring. Employee-run food drives, winter coat drives, and event volunteering have helped a variety of organizations while creating strong bonds between co-workers and departments.

In addition, DAA Northwest and its dealers have raised over one million dollars during the past two decades through the auction’s annual Anniversary Sale fundraiser. DAA matches all dealer donations dollar for dollar to benefit local charities. The event takes place each November and benefits the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Union Gospel Mission, Young Life, and Spring of Hope International.



Since its inception in 2011, the KCI Cares program has donated over $1,000,000 to Sheffield Place, CASA of Jackson County, Camp Quality of Greater KC, and other organizations. In addition, KCI Cares and its supporters have helped serve 200 homeless women and children, assisted numerous court-appointed children and lifted spirits to kids with cancer.



Throughout the year, DAA Seattle holds fundraisers to support Valley Cities, a local not-for-profit organization helping those in need. Services include support for veterans, domestic violence victims, homeless families, substance abuse programs, and psychiatric care.

DAA Seattle has become one of Valley Cities largest annual donors, with more plans for employee volunteer opportunities outside of the auction. DAA Seattle employees and dealers participate in food drives and winter coat drives during peak seasons of need. The August ‘Helping Hands’ promotional sale starts off with a live auction with items donated by employees to raise vital funds for the year to come.
